Coloring some four leaf clovers working on our color words.
We did something different to paint/color our four leaf clovers green. We each had a tray with our four leaf clover painted onto it. We added a little green paint and rolled some marbles around to spread the paint! We some loose and crazy marbles but it was FUN!
We also worked on some fine motor skills and some more color identification. We glued on fruit loops and glued them onto our paper in the correct color order of the rainbow.
We did some more color mixing this week. We focused just mixing just two colors this week. We started off by reading the story: Little Blue and Little Yellow. Pictured below with Chester the Raccoon (our preschool story time friend).
The preschoolers each had blue and yellow frosting in their bowl. Once they mixed it, the color turned green just like how little blue and little yellow did in the story! To eat with our yummy frosting we had some graham crackers.
For our Fabulous, Fantastic Friday (even though we haven't had one in a while :) ). We did a rainbow experiment. Since we have been learning about mixing colors and the colors of the rainbow we made rainbow volcanoes. We talked about how the two ingredients did not get along with each other and when they touched they went 'whish' (in their words). The preschoolers got to mix the colors that they wanted for their volcano. We had a countdown and off they went!
For our art project for the day we did a rainbow rhyme. The preschoolers each had to pick their favorite color of the rainbow, name two items that were that color and then draw them. Here are a few rhymes.
I had to put this one up because it is one of my favorites and I was not shocked at all when he put the Nebraska Huskers in his poem. I am also VERY impressed with his Husker 'N' that he drew to show it! Click on the pictures to get a closer look at the rhyme and their responses.
