It's Christmas time!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We have been super busy during our last week of school in the year 2017!!
Our letter of the week was letter Ff.  We turned our letter Ff's into some frogs and added some flies on the side.

Our chart full of words that begin or end with the letter Ff.

We made some ornaments for our parents for Christmas.  They each got to draw a picture of what they wanted to and then decorate their picture frame.

Our parents' presents all wrapped up and ready to go home!

Each day we had a theme during our Christmas week.  On Tuesday we had Gingerbread Man Day.  We read many stories about the Gingerbread Man and then compared/contrasted the stories.

Making some sticker gingerbread men.

We decorated some gingerbread men!

Ff is for frog and flies!

On Wednesday we had pajama day - Polar Express Day.  We read the story and even got some tickets to hop on our classroom Polar Express train!

Buddy our elf even brought something back from Santa!  Thanks Buddy!

We also made homemade hot chocolate on our pajama day.

Using adjectives to describe our hot chocolate.

We reviewed our vowels.  We listed some Christmas/Winter words.  Once we had our words, they each got to come up and circle the vowels that was in their word.

On Thursday we had Grinch Day!  We all wore green, read the story and thought of ways to make the Grinch grin!

We even wrote him a letter telling him why he should smile.

Making our Grinch dust!  We added something sweet, some joy and love!

We learned about other Christmas holidays this week as well.  We talked about Kwanzaa and Hanukkah.

We each water colored our own driedels.

Christmas party fun!

These three Kinders were recognized at our academic pep rally for having the highest AIMS Web test results!

Way to go Kinders!

Merry Christmas!!!

Wow has December come and gone!
Here is what we did during the last week before Christmas Break!
It was very busy so I am sorry ahead of time not being able to capture all those moments.
We had a theme for each day during our Christmas Week.
Monday - Gingerbread Man day
Tuesday - Polar Express Day & Pajama Day!
Wednesday - Snowy Day
Thursday - Grinch Day

Here are the Kinder elves for the elementary Christmas concert.

Here is some sight word work we did.

Sorting out our vowels.

We listed some adjectives that describe our gingerbread men.

Decorating our own gingerbread men cookies!

On Tuesday it was our Polar Express day and also PAJAMA DAY! Yes even I love pajama day!
When we came back from recess, Buddy our elf brought all the kinders a present from Santa...it was a bell from his sleigh - just like in the story!  Of course we had to ring it to make sure we could hear it.

To go with our Polar Express day - we made homemade hot chocolate! It was yummy!

We wrote some adjectives about our hot chocolate.

We also learned how to put words in ABC order.

Our presents all wrapped up to go home for our parents.

On Grinch Day we made Grinch Dust to make sure that the sneaky Grinch stays away from our houses on Christmas Eve.
To make Grinch Dust you need one cup of something sweet, two drops of joy and two drops of love.  Once it is all in your bag, you need to close it and give it lots of hugs to mix all the ingredients together.
The Grinch hates all things sweet, lovely, joyful and especially hugs! It will definitely keep him away Christmas Eve night.

Here is one of our games we played at our party.  They had to try to hook as many candy canes as they can without using their hands.   Our teacher's aide, Skylar even stayed and joined in on the fun!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  I cannot wait to see what 2017 has in store for us Kinders!
