Our door decor for fall!!!
We made some candy corn bats to get ready for Halloween week!
This week the Kindergartners read stories about ocean life in reading. We learned about how ocean water is different from fresh water by tasting salt water! I had quite a few funny faces when they drank the water. I wished I had enough hands to take pictures and give them their water.
One of the ocean animals we learned about were crabs. Here is our crab poem that we learned and put in our journals this week.

We reviewed what a noun is and then were introduced to having more than one. We learned that when having more than one we add the letter 's' at the end.

One of our sight words this week was: is. Here is our poem.
They had to choose one fruit or vegetable from the poem. They then had to write the sight word is and the color the item was. Here are the journal entries we did.

This week the Kindergartners helped set a world record for reading one book. Jackie Steffen from the Extension office came to our classroom and read us a story that is being read to schools all over to help set a world record. The story was: Not Norman: A Goldfish Story.
Here they are doing an activity to go along with the story.
We also had a birthday this week in our classroom. We have a senior who is our aide and it was his birthday. We gave him some birthday goodies and of course a Kindergarten birthday crown!
