Columbus Day & Field Trip Week!!!

This week was a crazy and fun week for the Kindergartners!  It was finally the week of their field trip!  We have been counting down the days until Friday finally approached.  During all the excitement we somehow managed to get our work done. :)

Our letter of the week was the letter Tt.  Our reading story this week focused around things that go.  We learned about things that go as well as how they move about and help us.  Here are our letter Tt tractors (one of the items that we listed on things that go) :).

Our color sight word was blue this week.  They are cutting out blue items to place in their journals.

Monday was Columbus Day and yes we did have school.  In the afternoon we learned about who Columbus was, what he did and all about his journey.  We read a short story about him and then discussed what we all learned.  We wrote some of the things that we learned in a character map and then made a craft.  We made one of his boats the; Nina.

While learning about things that go they all brought something that goes to school to play with during center/free time.

On one of our days we learned about trains and how they move.  We read a story about going on a train ride and then made our classroom train.  On their trains they had to draw something they would take with them, draw them on the train, and then what they would see on their trip.

I apologize I didn't take more pictures of the week.  I kept forgetting to charge my camera battery but I made sure it was charged for the field trip.  We first went to a play "No Room on the Broom".  I didn't take any pictures there because it wasn't allowed so I apologize.  We then went to a park to eat our packed lunches and play for a very short time and then we were off to the pumpkin patch!  This was the main event that they all were waiting for.  I only got a few pictures because I also joined in on the fun with them.  :)

In with the goats!

Petting the pigs!

Going down a silo slide.  We were here for a very long time!  It was actually a fun and VERY FAST slide!

3 silly boys in one of the house bins.

A group picture on tire mountain!
