Easter!!

Easter is almost here! Where has April gone? This post contains some pictures from our themed week of bugs!  We started to plant our flowers this week.  We did something new.  I usually plant flowers with the preschoolers, but this year we decided to grow hair!  We took silly pictures of the preschoolers and placed them on to their cups.  They filled up the cups with soil and placed in the seeds (Cat grass seeds).  The grass would become their crazy hair!

We had a parent who generously donated these butterfly foam crafts.  We put them to use by putting them on a white paper and then they had to draw a flowered scene to with their butterfly.

Here are those butterfly crafts that I mentioned in the last post.  This was a very craft.  It consisted of zip lock bags, pipe cleaners, cut up construction paper and tissue paper.

For our Easter week we had a very short week with Kindergarten round up and it was only a two day week.  We did a craft where we made patterned eggs using pom poms.

One of  our flower crafts consisted of a coffee filter which they water colored and a cupcake liner.  They glued the coffee filters on first and the placed the cupcake liner on top of that.  The heart in the middle are stickers left over from Valentine's Day!  They turned out super cute!

Another Easter project we did was make hand print bunnies for our parents.  I didn't get a picture of the project (sorry).

Of course we had to plant jelly beans this week!  Have you ever planted a jelly bean and wondered what it would turn into?  Well we did just that, we sang our little chant and hoped that the sun would shine very bright on them.  (For jelly beans to grow you need to sing the special chant and they need plenty of sunshine).

By golly our jelly beans grew into suckers!!!!

Since I only had  few on Wednesday due to the Kindergarten round up we did an umbrella craft because the weather was kinda of gloomy, cold and rainy (yuck).  We talked about how umbrellas protect us from the rain.  Here are a few umbrellas.

To end our Easter unit we of course had to dye Easter eggs and had our preschool Easter egg hunt!
