Wow, I am way behind on my blogging! Sorry about that. I actually brought my computer home thinking I have two weeks off, I will get my blogging updated. As you can see that didn't happen. I but I don't know about you all but I thought our Christmas break went by really quickly. Anyways enough of my rambling. I hope everyone had a great Christmas holiday and a happy New Year's. I am looking forward to the year 2013 and what it has in store for the preschoolers.
We finished off the year with a Christmas unit. We reviewed our letters Kk and Jj along with the number 5, triangles and our colors gold and green. Our circle time activities had a little bit of Christmas added to it. Below are some pictures of tinsel limbo.
This is one of the crafts that we made during the week. It's our unique Christmas tree. We reviewed our big and small skills. They did very well. The pieces are scraps of wallpaper from those out of style wallpaper books. It's amazing what you can do with wallpaper scraps! :)
Here is the poem that went with our Christmas tree. I searched and searched to find a cute little poem to go with our craft. I could not believe that I could not find one that would fit with our unique tree. (I gave up after 10 mintues of searching) I eventually put pieces of poems into one creative one and it worked for me. :)
The poem says:
I'm a unique Christmas tree,
that will bring you good cheer.
Made for you from me,
for Christmas only comes once a year!
This is our little classroom tree. Once I had all my decorations up, it was priceless to see their little faces light up when they walked in the room.
Reading books during a transistion time and clean up from an art project.
Cutting out, gluing and putting our numbers in order.
One of our games at our Christmas party was, reindeer, reindeer, SANTA! (like duck, duck, goose) Yes, that's me joining in on the fun! Of couse I wouldn't miss out :)! It was our ugly sweater/Christmas hat day, which explains the ugly sweater (Thank you mom!)
For snack we made peanut butter and jelly reindeers! I used a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out the sandwiches. M&M's were used for the eyes and nose and the antlers were pretzels.
Present time! They couldn't wait for this part. I was very impressed on how patient they were beforehand!
