Happy 100th Day!!!

It was an exciting week for the Kindergartners this week!  We celebrated our 100th day of school!  Woo hoo!!  They have been waiting a long time for this day to come and it finally came!

This week we started learning about money in math.  We looked at the 4 different coins we will be learning about.  Before we started to learn about the coins, we first identified the heads and tails side of a coin.  We did a graphing on how many heads and tails we flipped with our coin.  They did a great job on this activity and had a blast!

This is our door on the 100th day of school!  They were pretty excited when they saw the streamers and when they found out it was going to stay up all day!!

Starting to decorate our 100th day crowns.

Doing some center time.  These three students are working on our website that we use: ABCMouse

Center work: identifying real and silly words.

Center Work: Math center - math game working with identifying larger/smaller numbers.

Starting to put our crowns together.  They had to add 10 strips to their crowns and then put the number 10 on the top of each strip.

We started to count by tens all the way to 100 and figured out that was why we needed 10 strips.  I was very impressed!  We then paint dotted 10 dots on each strip so we had a total of 100 dots.

The Kindergarten class with our 100th day crowns.

We had to do a silly face picture.

They each had to bring 100 items of something.  We made our 100 poster as well.  They impressed me again when they noticed that the word 'one hundred' has ten letters just like how our crown had 10 strips.  I asked them how many we should put on each letter and they said 10!  So we glued 10 of our items on each letter.

To end our exciting week we started some of our Valentine's Day crafts.  For our bulletin board in the hallway we made hearts that showed 4 things we love.  They had to cut out 4 pictures from a magazine and glue to their hearts.

A writing we did for our 100th day of school.  They had to make a self portrait of them when they are 100.  They had to rip the pieces of paper to glue for their face to get the wrinkle affect as well as ripping pieces of paper for their hair.  Along with their craft, they had to write what they will do when they are 100 years old.
