Tt is for tractors, trucks and tigers!

This week was a very busy week for us Kinders.  It was our Homecoming, apple week and letter Tt week!  It was a crazy but fun week!

We read a story Duck on Tractor.  We identified that our story is a make believe book because ducks can't drive tractors.  We turned our letter Tt's into tractors!

Our letter Tt chart!

Before we learned about the parts of an apple we brainstormed and thought about what could be inside our apple.  A lot of them either drew a worm, seeds or both!

We learned about labels and what they can do for us.  We learned the parts of an apple and labeled them.

Cutting our apples to do our own labeling activity.

Center work: letter identification.

Center work:  color words

Our letter Tt tractors!

Our dot paint apples!

More center work.

Our dot paint apples and some apple handwriting.  They had to think of one thing their apple turned into.  They then had to write the word to complete their sentence.  Some of their ideas were: pie, applesauce, juice, cookies and bread.

Our apple label craft.

Taste testing apples!  We taste tested the red, yellow and green apples, apple cider and homemade applesauce!  It was all a huge hit, especially

Our apple testing paper.

Mm is for Moose, Muffins and Mice!

This week we started focusing on a letter at a time!  Our letter of the week was letter Mm.  We identified the sound, the letter and
blended words that begin and end with the sound.

One of our sight words this week was the word: it.  Here is some sight word work that they worked on.  We also have been working on real and make-believe (fantasy).  After they colored their snake, they had to identify if it was a real or make believe snake.

Door number 2 decor!  Water colored leaves.

New math center!  Roll a leaf!

Mm is for mouse!

Sorting out and identifying Mm pictures.

In science we have been learning about motion.  We made some ramps with blocks to help put our ball into motion.  We had to figure out how to get the ball over the blocks that stopped our ball in motion.  They used directions that we have been learning; around and around, up and down and back and forth.

One of our Mm stories we read was If You Give a Moose a Muffin.  We couldn't read the story without eating muffins!

Enjoying our muffins!

Another Mm activity involved M & M's!  They placed their M & M's on all the Mm's they could find. Once they found them all they had to then circle them.  The best part was eating them - of course!

Our mice done and up!
