I hope everyone had a blessed and happy Easter over the weekend. It wasn't the greatest weather but I will take it over snowing/raining. Well at least here is wasn't snowing or raining on Easter.
This last week was a busy and fun week for the Kinders. We learned the letter Uu, learned two amazing words: truckers and haul, the three states of matter: solid, liquid and gas and did lots of Easter themed activities.
Uu is for Umbrella! We painted with our thumbs/fingers to add the raindrops.
We read a story If You Were the Easter Bunny. For one of our handwriting lessons they had to think of one thing they would do if they were the Easter Bunny.
Our Easter Bunnies we made.
Two of our amazing words that went with our reading story this week were: trucker and haul. We listed lots of different things truckers can haul.
They each got to decorate their truck but they had to think of/draw things they would haul. They also had to draw a trucker in the window. If you look closely you will be able to see them. :)
We read the story: The Easter Egg by Jan Brett. Hoppy had to decorate an egg to present to the Easter Bunny so he would win the contest.
They each had to decorate their egg they would design for the contest.
Here is another story we read. Clifford changed different colors in this story.
Here is another handwriting lesson we did. They had to color Clifford a different way like how he changed in our book.
Since we learned the letter Uu we had to do something with the word: Underwear. This week was a silly week especially when we said the word: underwear.
We read many books about animals in their underwear. :)
Can you say underwear 10 times without smiling or giggling? It was a hard task to do in the Kindergarten classroom!
After reading our story about the monsters in their underwear. They each got to decorate their own pair of underwear.
They waited all week for this Science activity which included Popsicles. In Science this week we talked about: solids, liquids and gases. We identified each type of matter and also learned that matter can go from solid to liquid and back to solid. You add heat to change it to a liquid and coldness to change it to a solid.
Our Popsicles started out as a liquid. We froze them so they would become a solid. While we were eating them they also pointed out that they were starting to go back to a liquid!
Uu is for Underwear!
