Turkey Trouble!

It's been awhile since I have posted and I apologize.  I waited so I could include the short week that we had right before Thanksgiving.
These last two weeks the Kinders have been BUSY!  It's amazing to see their growth already in late November.  They each are blooming in their own special way.

Last week we learned the letter Ii.  We turned our letter Ii's into iguanas.

Our candy corn that we have had up for awhile - just now got the picture of them. :)

One of our sight words was the word: he.  We learned that he refers to a boy.  We looked through magazines to find our 'he's and then we glued them into our journals.

In Science we learned about WATER!  Here is our anchor chart that helped us learn the four bodies of water that we learned about.

Sight word poem: for.  These went into our journals.

The start of one of our turkey crafts.

Almost done!

Tada!!

Another turkey craft.  Our 'On Strike' turkeys!

Before we made our turkeys - we listed some things we can eat/serve at Thanksgiving instead of turkey!

They each had to choose one thing to serve besides turkey.

Our Turkey door decor.

We put our 'on strike' turkeys in the lunch room for all to see!

Math center work.  Counting stickers on pumpkins, writing the number and color matching the pumpkins.

Roll a turkey! - Math center

The Kinders had a homework assignment.  We read a story Turkey Trouble.  The turkey in our story does not want to be Thanksgiving dinner. So he disguises in different disguises to try to trick the farmer that he isn't a turkey.

They had to come up with a new disguise for their turkey. They had a whole week to do this at home. They turned out turkey-istic! :)

Making our grocery list for our Thanksgiving dinner.

After writing their grocery list they had to draw their foods on their plate.

Native American and Pilgrim sticker fun!

Proud to be an American!

This week the Kinders learned about the letter Cc.  We identified words that had the /k/ sound at the beginning and at the end of words.
We read a story: If You Give a Cat a Cupcake.  After reading the story we turned our letter Cc's intro cats!

Our list of Cc words!

This week the Kinders reviewed color adjectives and were introduced to: size, shape, and number adjectives.   They had to list adjectives that described the size of our flowers.

Working with opposites and size adjectives.  They had to draw something big and something little.

Our letter Cc cats!

Our Candy Corn adjectives.  They had to write three adjectives about their candy corn.

Our list of candy corn adjectives.

Candy corn craft.

This week we learned about Veterans and Soldiers!

Another letter Cc craft.  Cc is for cookie.

We read the story If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.  After reading the story we made the cookie craft (above) and then we had to decorate our own cookies!

Building our soldiers!

Thank you Veterans!
