The first few days of school we got used to each other, got adjusted to our brand new room, toured the school and learned our school/classroom rules.
Here are some pictures of the Kinders on the first day of school.
Building a tower during centers. They even got it to be taller than me!
More center time!
We read some stories about David. David is a pretty naughty little boy. We listed what he did in the stories that made him naughty. Then we listed things that he could do instead so he didn't get in trouble.
Another story we read was Pete the Cat Rocking in my School Shoes.
After reading the story we made our own Pete the Cats and decorated our own shoe.
Our finished product!
The first book we read was about Chester the Raccoon - who also made an appearance on the first day of school. Chester was very scared about going to school for the first time until his mom taught him a secret! :) The book is called The Kissing Hand.
Building our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom name trees.
The Eclipse was a big day for us. We did get to see some of it but we mostly saw clouds.
We did a Science craft that let us understand a little bit better on what was going on. Their craft allowed the moon and sun go around the Earth and of course allowing the moon to go in front of the sun - which made the eclipse!
We read The Rainbow Fish to help teach us about sharing and ways to be a good friend. They each decorated their own rainbow fish and we added a sparkly scale to each one as well.
Practicing using our glue bottles - dot dot not a lot.
One of the rainbow fish finished.
Name painting!
Working on writing letters during center time.
Matching letter tiles to the letters.
Peg play during centers.
Working on some file folder games during center time.
ABC Popsicle match.
Our names all done and up!
We started our first lesson in Science this past week. We learned about what a habitat is and what animals need to live.
At the end of our lesson we made a habitat and glued on the animals that would live there.
